DRASS, CATHERINE JANE, “Cathy” 73, Hastings, passed away April 15, 2024, at home. Born April 12, 1951, in Spangler, the daughter of the late Charles Jr. and Dorothy (Haluska) Sullivan. Survived by loving husband of 52 years, Donald C. Drass; son, Brian (Rebecca) Drass; daughter, Missy (Jason) Griak, and grandchildren, Austin McAnulty, Jacob Griak, Alexis Griak, Kaitlyn Drass, and Courtney Drass, all of Hastings. Also survived by sister, Charlotte (Bob) Drass, Carnegie; brother, Tom (Jane) Sullivan, Patton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Daniel (Donna) Drass, Hastings; nieces and nephews, Brenda (John) Serbicki, Barb (Michael) McGinley, Jill (Craig) Couturiaux, Deanna Drass (Jamie Deyarmin), Andrew (Katy) Drass, Matthew Drass; and great-nieces and great-nephews, John Brendan, Tyler, Payton, Kenzie, Liam, GiGi, Bentley, Brayden, Lacey, Maci, Drew and Moli . Member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings. Cathy was a retired C.N.A. working 22 years at HAIDA Health & Rehabilitation Center in Hastings and 11 years at Rebekah Manor. She had also worked previously at Patton Shirt Factory, 5th Avenue Hotel and Harry’s Pizza in Patton. She was a member of the Hastings Fire Club, Hastings L.O.O.M., and St. Benedict Rembrandt Club, where she and Don liked to spend time with their friends. An avid sports fan, Cathy enjoyed Pirates Baseball and Steelers Football. She enjoyed bowling in leagues throughout the years and was passionate about softball, having played in women’s community leagues and coached teen girls for Hastings Youth Association. She loved being busy and staying active, but her highest priority was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished time as a family and supporting all the activities of her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria, and at St. Bernard Catholic Church on Thursday, April 18, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Thaddeus Rettger, OSB, celebrant. Committal, St. Bernard Cemetery. A special thank you is extended to her niece, Jill, along with Joy, Sue, Sharon, Matt, and Karissa for the excellent care and support they provided during her illness.
