Joann M. (Hoover) Ligda

LIGDA, JOANN M., 94, Northern Cambria, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Johnstown.  Born November 21, 1931, in Patton, the daughter of Lawrence and Martha (Rudolph) Hoover.  Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Edward J. Ligda, who died January 30, 2020; son, Edward J. Ligda; brother, Frank Hoover; and sisters, Connie Winsko and Rita Alvarez.  Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Karen Ligda, Northern Cambria; grandchildren, Erik Ligda, Heidi Gavazzi, Lauren DePetro, and Tyler Ligda; also, seven great-grandchildren.  Member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  JoAnn worked more than 30 years in the banking industry, first at Laurel Bank and later First National Bank.  She loved flower gardening which included the tulips she brought back from one of their many overseas trips. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing golf.  Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2026, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Fr. Mark Groeger officiating.  Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Northern Cambria Library.
