Mary Elizabeth Westover

WESTOVER, MARY ELIZABETH, 90, of Westover, passed away February 18, 2026, at the home of her niece, Nancy Oaks.  Mary was born January 6, 1936, in Westover, the last surviving member of the LaRue and Carrie (Kelly) Westover family.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by these siblings and their spouses:  Richard (Nora) Westover, LaRue Jr. (Phyllis) Westover, Milton (Marion) Westover, Robert (Sara) Westover, Harry Clyde (Gracie) Westover, Francis Edward (Barb) Westover, Hershel (Rozella) Westover, Sarah (Alva) Leamer, Carrie (Harvey) Westover, Gladys (Carl) Beck, Cyrenna Grace (Carl) Green, and an infant brother. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and many great, great-great, and great-great-great, nieces and nephews.  She was a 1953 graduate of Harmony High School. In 1960 Mary moved to Ohio and worked the next 46 years as a molding technician at Geauga Industries, which later became Carlisle Engineered Products Inc. in Middlefield, Ohio. As one of the longest-employed workers at the company, she was interviewed by the local newspapers when the plant was closing in 2006.  She was a member of Local 1902 Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Workers, an affiliate of AFL-CIO.  She next worked for her brother’s business Westover Janitorial in Ohio until her retirement in 2020.  In 2022, she returned to Westover, PA and resided with her niece, enjoying being back home surrounded by family.  Mary was an avid, life-long Pittsburgh Steeler fan even through her many years of living and working among the fans of the Cleveland Browns.   Family and friends will be received Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Pastor Brian Westover, nephew of Mary, officiating.  Interment, East Ridge Cemetery.
